Fortunately, Luka’s family started to get out of poverty after Luka Modric’s father Stipe Modrić got a decent job as a Croatian Army mechanic. Luka started playing football as a child, inspired by Zvonimir Boban and Francesco Totti.

In May 2010, he married Vanja Bosnic in Zagreb after dating for 4 years. Vanja Bosnic is the brain behind Luka Modric’s aspiring football career. She is also Luka’s agent and helps him negotiate his club transfer and manage his career. They have three children together: a son and two daughters: Ivano, Ema and Sofia.
